- An Garda Síochána says 1,038 drivers were detected speeding on December 23, with 377 intercepted during the 24-hour operation.
- Extreme cases included 139 km/h in a 60 km/h zone in Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow, and 168 km/h in a 100 km/h zone near Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
- The Christmas road-safety campaign, running December 1 to January 5, previously logged nearly 5,400 speeding detections in the week of December 15–21.
- Garda activity in that week also included over 2,021 checkpoints, more than 650 vehicle seizures, and hundreds of fixed-charge notices for phone and seatbelt offences.
