OU Cancels Dec. 19 Classes, Moves Finals as Alabama Playoff Game Comes to Norman

The university is consolidating operations to manage game-day logistics before next-day graduation.

Overview

In-person classes at the Norman campus are canceled Friday, Dec. 19 for the College Football Playoff matchup with Alabama, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
Final exams originally set for that Friday are moved earlier in the week, with some rescheduled as soon as Monday, Dec. 15.
OU Health will follow normal work and class schedules until 2 p.m. on Dec. 19, after which academic operations on that campus will pause.
Only essential personnel should report to campus on Dec. 19, while OU-Tulsa generally continues classes unless a course is based out of Norman.
Fall commencement remains scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 20, and hotels near campus report limited availability with rates ranging from under $300 to nearly $800.
