Overview

  • Bow Valley Carbon Cochrane Limited Partnership receives $10 million to install CO₂ compression, conditioning, pipeline and sequestration systems aimed at capturing 40,000 tonnes of emissions per year from Inter Pipeline’s Cochrane plant.
  • Enbridge secures $4 million to characterize deep saline reservoirs for its Open Access Wabamun Hub, supporting utility-scale CO₂ transport and storage north and west of Edmonton.
  • Enhance Energy is awarded $5 million for development and regulatory work on the Origins CCS Hub, using subsurface data to target a pressure-depleted saline aquifer in a Canadian carbonate reservoir.
  • OptiSeis Solutions obtains $538,000 to enhance subsurface imaging and analytics for CO₂ storage monitoring, and OCCAM’s Technologies is granted $2.02 million to develop Oxy-Fire diesel generator modifications capable of capturing 5–30 tonnes of CO₂ per day.
  • These investments underscore Ottawa’s push to create jobs, cut emissions and strengthen energy security while the $16.5 billion Pathways Alliance CCS hub remains without a final investment decision.
