OSSSC Cancels Main Exam for 2,895 Posts After Court Challenges
A fresh preliminary exam notification will be issued soon for original applicants to requalify without submitting new applications.
Overview
- OSSSC has officially cancelled the main examination scheduled from August 1 to September 4 for 2,895 posts including revenue inspectors, assistant revenue inspectors, Amins, ICDS supervisors and statistical field surveyors.
- The decision follows petitions in the Orissa High Court over allegations of paper leaks and procedural irregularities in the preliminary exam held between September and October 2024.
- OSSSC had controversially passed all 293,000 candidates in the preliminary exam instead of shortlisting only five times the number of vacancies as per official rules.
- Advocate General Pitambar Acharya informed the Orissa High Court of the cancellation and confirmed that all applicants from the 2023 recruitment notification will remain eligible for the fresh preliminary exam.
- Candidates are advised to monitor the OSSSC website for the upcoming fresh preliminary exam notification without needing to submit new applications.
