Overview
- Under Resolution No. 134-2025-CD/OSIPTEL, operators must cancel lines or block devices within one calendar day once Osiptel relays an authority’s request via Renteseg.
- If the competent authority requests it within 90 days, services must be reactivated or devices unblocked within 24 hours, with users notified of the date, reason and requesting entity.
- Noncompliance with deadlines, failures to inform users or missing Renteseg reports are classified as administrative infractions subject to sanction.
- The procedure aligns with Supreme Decree No. 018-2025-IN to curb extortion, fraud and organized crime, though specialists caution that bureaucracy and coordination gaps could blunt results.
- A separate Conditions of Use update (Resolution No. 000132-2025-CD/OSIPTEL) accelerates user processes, including migration on the subscriber’s chosen date, service cancellation in one business day, SIM replacement and number recovery within one to four hours, automatic refunds for improper charges, and a requirement that operators report contracting mechanisms within 80 days.
