Oscilloscope Acquires North American Rights to Ethan Hawke's 'Wildcat'

The film, starring Maya Hawke as Flannery O’Connor, explores the writer's struggle with lupus and her journey to establish herself as a writer.

Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American rights to 'Wildcat', a film directed by Ethan Hawke and starring his daughter Maya Hawke as Southern Gothic writer Flannery O’Connor.
The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Telluride Film Festival and is set to be released in theaters in the Spring of 2024.
The story is set in 1950 and follows O’Connor as she is diagnosed with lupus at 24 years old, the same disease that took her father’s life, and explores her struggle to establish herself as a writer.
The film is noted for its non-conventional storytelling, blending fact, fiction, and everything in between, to give a true portrait of a complicated human.
The cast of 'Wildcat' also includes Laura Linney, Philip Ettinger, Rafael Casal, Cooper Hoffman, Steve Zahn, Vincent D’Onofrio, Alessandro Nivola, Christine Dye, Willa Fitzgerald, and Levon Hawke.
