Oscar Pistorius Granted Parole, Set for Release in January 2024

The former Olympic runner will be under constant monitoring until his sentence for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp ends in December 2029.

Oscar Pistorius, the South African Olympic runner, has been granted parole and will be released from prison on January 5, 2024.
Pistorius has served just under nine years of his 13-year, five-month sentence for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in 2013.
Upon release, Pistorius will be constantly monitored by officials until his sentence ends in December 2029.
Pistorius will live at his uncle's mansion in Pretoria and must continue anger management therapy as a condition of his parole.
Steenkamp's mother, June, has stated that she does not believe Pistorius has been fully rehabilitated and continues to dispute his version of events.
