Overview

• The initial rollout covers 13 ambulatorios distributed as 7 in Bizkaia, 4 in Gipuzkoa and 2 in Álava.
• In Álava, the selected centers are Lakuabizkarra and Salburua.
• Osakidetza presented the pilot on Wednesday at a sectorial table with unions as part of the Basque Government’s mental‑health plan de choque.
• Implementation will be progressive and is slated to begin as soon as possible, with timelines, staffing figures and budgets not yet disclosed.
• Primary‑care psychologists will provide group interventions for issues such as anxiety, depression and insomnia, will not diagnose or prescribe, and will serve as a bridge between family doctors and specialist mental‑health services.
