Ryan Turell made history as the first Orthodox Jewish player in the NBA's G League.
He played two seasons with the Motor City Cruise, affiliated with the Detroit Pistons.
Turell averaged 4.4 points per game and had a standout 34-point performance in his final game.
Ironi Ness Ziona, Turell's new team, reached the quarterfinals in the last season despite a losing record.
Turell's move to Israel does not preclude a future return to the G League or NBA.
