The zoo partnered with the Kansas Humane Society to find a companion and adopted Slinky, a three-month-old brindle mix dog who had also faced loss after his sister was adopted.
Slinky and Amora underwent a careful introduction process, including a quarantine period, to ensure their compatibility and safety.
The playful nature of Slinky helps Amora develop essential social skills and behaviors necessary for her eventual transition to living with other maned wolves.
Once Amora is integrated with her species, Slinky will be adopted by a zoo employee who has grown attached to him during his time at the zoo.
