Orlando Police Officer Fatally Shoots Unarmed Man During Traffic Stop

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed by a police officer during a traffic stop in downtown Orlando.
The man allegedly disobeyed the officer's commands and made a movement as if to retrieve a gun, although no gun was found at the scene.
The officer involved in the shooting was not injured and has been placed on paid administrative leave while the incident is being investigated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
The man, identified as Derek Diaz, was pulled over due to probable cause of involvement in drug activity.
Body camera footage of the incident will be made public within 30 days, according to Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith.
