Orlando Airport Renames Terminals as GOAA Approves $5.9 Billion Overhaul

The numeric labels signal the launch of a decade-long modernization plan funded to upgrade MCO’s systems, spaces and guest navigation.

Overview

  • Terminals A, B and C are now labeled 1, 2 and 3, a shift intended to simplify wayfinding for international and first-time travelers.
  • The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority approved a 10-year vision with $5.9 billion for MCO and $84.2 million for Orlando Executive Airport.
  • Airlines and facilities remain in their current physical locations despite the new terminal numbers, so travelers will use the same areas under new labels.
  • Planned features include biometric boarding and facial recognition, an on-site hotel, a vertiport for advanced air mobility targeted around 2030, VR/AR attractions, autonomous wheelchairs and mobile food ordering.
  • Capacity and convenience projects call for 8,000 additional parking spaces by 2030, Terminal C Phase 2, Airside 2 gate expansions and upgraded baggage and conveyance systems, with Disney-related transport providers expected to update guidance though Disney has not yet commented.
