• Adley Rutschman was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with an oblique strain sustained during pregame batting work in Boston.
• Interim manager Tony Mansolino described the strain as very mild or low grade but would not project whether Rutschman will play again this season.
• Top prospect Samuel Basallo, who debuted Sunday, moves into the primary catching role after initially being slated for a part-time mix.
