- Baltimore brought Jordan Westburg off the 10-day IL, designated Emmanuel Rivera for assignment, activated left-hander José Castillo and optioned left-hander Grant Wolfram to Triple-A Norfolk.
- Westburg, a 2024 All-Star limited to 73 games by multiple injuries, has hit .276 with 15 home runs this season after homering twice on a weekend rehab stint.
- Interim manager Tony Mansolino indicated Westburg will DH at first then move back to third base against upcoming left-handed starters, and he was slated to hit cleanup Tuesday in Chicago.
- Rivera, who is out of minor league options, posted a .250/.291/.283 line in 127 plate appearances and now goes on outright waivers following the DFA.
