Orioles' Hyde and Marlins' Schumaker Named 2023 MLB Managers of the Year

Brandon Hyde of the Baltimore Orioles and Skip Schumaker of the Miami Marlins have been named 2023 MLB Managers of the Year.
Hyde led the Orioles to an AL-best 101 victories, a significant improvement from a 110-loss season just two years prior.
Schumaker, in his first season as manager, led the Marlins to an 84-78 record and a postseason berth for the first time in a full season since 2003.
Hyde received 27 of 30 first-place votes, while Schumaker received eight first-place votes in a tight race with Milwaukee’s Craig Counsell and Atlanta’s Brian Snitker.
Both managers have been praised for their leadership and the significant improvements their teams have made under their guidance.
