Overview

  • The Orioles said Bautista had surgery Tuesday in Los Angeles with Dr. Neal ElAttrache to repair a torn rotator cuff and torn labrum.
  • The procedure ends his 2025 season, and Associated Press reporting indicates he is likely to miss most of 2026.
  • The operation follows last week’s announcement by interim manager Tony Mansolino that he would miss the remainder of the year with a significant shoulder injury.
  • Before the shutdown, Bautista returned from Tommy John recovery to post a 1-1 record with a 2.60 ERA and 19 saves over 34 2/3 innings in 2025.
  • He was an All-Star in 2023 with 33 saves and a 1.48 ERA, then missed the end of that season and all of 2024 after a right UCL tear and Tommy John surgery.
