Orioles Decline 2025 Option on Eloy Jiménez, Making Him a Free Agent

The decision follows a challenging season for Jiménez, who was acquired from the White Sox mid-2024.

Jiménez, 27, will receive a $3 million buyout after the Orioles declined the $16.5 million option for 2025.
Baltimore acquired Jiménez from the Chicago White Sox in July 2024 in exchange for pitcher Trey McGough.
During his time with the Orioles, Jiménez hit .232 with one home run and seven RBIs in 33 games.
Jiménez was sent to Triple-A Norfolk in late September and did not participate in the postseason.
Chicago will provide Baltimore with $5.5 million total as part of the trade and option decline agreements.
