- In his advisory role, Jones will provide guidance to the Orioles' baseball operations department and serve as a resource for both major and minor league players.
- Jones will also participate in team community initiatives, including programs with Harlem Park Elementary, Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI), and the Challenger League.
- He will begin his new role as a guest coach during the Orioles' spring training in Sarasota, Florida, starting February 12.
- Jones, who retired as an Oriole in 2023, spent 11 seasons with the team, earning four Gold Gloves, a Silver Slugger, and ranking among the franchise's all-time leaders in several offensive categories.
