Orioles All-Star Closer Félix Bautista To Undergo Tommy John Surgery, Miss 2023 Playoffs and 2024 Season

Bautista agreed to a two-year contract with the Orioles but will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the 2023 playoffs and likely all of 2024.
The injury occurred in late August and Bautista attempted to rehab and return for the playoffs but ultimately ran out of time.
Bautista had established himself as one of baseball's top closers this season, earning his first All-Star selection.
The Orioles clinched their first playoff berth since 2016 and will now rely on a bullpen by committee in Bautista's absence.
Bautista's surgery is scheduled for next month and he is expected to return for the 2025 season.
