• The sale closed out “Echoes From the Galaxy,” a two-week exhibit at the Comic-Con Museum billed as the world’s largest collection of Star Wars artifacts.
• The helmet, authenticated by Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies, is an Episode IV stunt piece believed to appear as a Sandtrooper on Tatooine and one of only six known to survive.
• Other screen-used props commanded six-figure bids, including Darth Maul’s lightsaber for $76,800 and stunt sabers used by Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson at $38,400 each.
• Collectors also acquired rare memorabilia like Bob Mackie’s 1978 Holographic Tumbler unitard from the Star Wars Holiday Special for $8,960.
