Original Joe’s Walnut Creek Reopens Oct. 1 After August Kitchen Fire

The family-run restaurant’s first East Bay outpost occupies a roughly 300-seat space at Walnut Creek’s Broadway Plaza.

  • The Walnut Creek location resumed service Wednesday after about six weeks of repairs, according to a press release.
  • Operating hours are Monday–Thursday 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Friday 11 a.m.–11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–11 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m.–10 p.m., with reservations available on the restaurant’s website.
  • An overnight kitchen fire on Aug. 18 prompted the shutdown but caused no injuries, according to Original Joe’s.
  • The restaurant had held its grand opening on Aug. 14 and closed days later due to what it described as a minor kitchen fire.
  • Original Joe’s is owned by the Duggan family and also operates locations in San Francisco’s North Beach and Daly City’s Westlake.
