Oregon Man Pleads Guilty to Bomb Threats Targeting Jewish Hospitals in New York

Domagoj Patkovic admitted to orchestrating hoax bomb threats and swatting incidents, endangering patients and staff while diverting law enforcement resources.

  • Domagoj Patkovic, 31, of Portland, Oregon, pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to make threats and conveying false information concerning explosives.
  • The threats, made between May 2021 and September 2021, targeted Jewish hospitals and care centers in Long Island and New York City.
  • Patkovic and accomplices made at least six threatening calls, including bomb threats, some of which led to evacuations and lockdowns of hospital facilities.
  • The calls were livestreamed on social media, further amplifying the disruption and fear caused by the hoaxes.
  • Patkovic faces up to 15 years in prison and was charged in August 2024 before being brought to New York to face trial.
