Overview

• The Preliminary Examination will feature two compulsory objective papers in General Studies, carrying 200 marks each.
• Each paper will be of two hours, with four-option multiple-choice questions and a one‑third negative mark for incorrect responses.
• Some questions will carry inbuilt negative marking by awarding different marks based on the appropriateness of the chosen answer.
• Appearing in both papers is mandatory for evaluation, with absence from either paper resulting in disqualification.
• Separately, document verification and personality tests for 806 OCS‑2023 qualifiers are scheduled from September 6 to 18 in Cuttack, with original documents and self‑attested copies required.
