Overview
- Opposition lawmakers asked STF minister André Mendonça to order an electronic ankle monitor and retain Fábio Luís Lula da Silva’s passport, with the petition also sent to Attorney General Paulo Gonet.
- The request was led by deputy Marcel van Hattem and signed by Rogério Marinho, Eduardo Girão, Alfredo Gaspar, Adriana Ventura and Luiz Lima.
- In a separate 12-page filing, attorney Jeffrey Chiquini sought Lulinha’s preventive detention and urged urgent referral to prosecutors, citing what he calls robust indications of involvement.
- The Federal Police informed the Supreme Court it is examining references to Lulinha in the INSS fraud probe, and a PF representation suggested he could, in theory, be a hidden partner of Antônio Carlos Camilo Antunes, known as the Careca do INSS.
- The filings argue he lives in Spain and recently left Brazil, point to COAF-flagged transactions, and cite alleged transfers totaling R$1.5 million and an INSS scheme with estimated losses of R$1.3 billion, while no court measures have been ordered.
