OPP Probes Two Fatal Crashes Near Renfrew, Seeks Witnesses
Police have identified two Val-des-Monts women and a 57-year-old Ottawa motorcyclist as the victims.
Overview
- A car and pickup collided on Highway 17 around noon on Sept. 30, and two women aged 54 and 78 from Val-des-Monts were pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
- The pickup’s driver, who was the sole occupant, was not injured, according to the Renfrew OPP.
- A separate motorcycle–car collision on Highway 60 in Horton Township around 4:30 p.m. the same day left a 57-year-old Ottawa man dead and the car’s driver with non-life-threatening injuries.
- OPP technical collision investigators and a reconstructionist attended both scenes, and the investigations remain active.
- Highways 17 and 60 were temporarily closed during the response, and police are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam video to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
