• A 52-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene and a 52-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.
• OPP reported the wheel detached from a pickup in the Fort Erie–bound lanes and crossed into opposing lanes just east of Niagara Street.
• The pickup’s driver, a 33-year-old from Niagara Falls, N.Y., was uninjured and faces charges related to a detached part and operating an unsafe vehicle.
