Overview
- The second phase was launched at Vengara in Malappuram on Monday, September 28, and was inaugurated by Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan with senior ministers and the home minister in attendance.
- Government plans create Toofan Janajagratha Samithis—local public awareness committees—and a network called Toofan Warriors to mobilise grama sabhas, Kudumbashree, ASHAs, youth groups and residents’ associations for prevention work.
