Operation Muskaan-XI Concludes in Telangana After Rescuing 7,678 Children

Post-operation efforts prioritize enrolling rescued children in school alongside family reunification.

Overview

  • 7,678 children were recovered from exploitative conditions between July 1 and 31 through coordination among 121 sub-divisional teams across urban and rural areas.
  • Authorities registered 1,713 FIRs, arrested 1,718 individuals and imposed ₹47.76 lakh in penalties under child labour and minimum wages laws.
  • Hyderabad City Police rescued 1,247 minors, Rachakonda Police accounted for 2,479 rescues and the erstwhile Adilabad district reported 328 interventions.
  • Over 3,700 of those rescued were migrant children from Nepal and other states, leading to enrollment of 2,600 in bridge-school programs.
  • Rehabilitation has begun with more than 6,500 children reunited with families, placements in child care homes and launches of vocational training initiatives.
