Overview
- Troops of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles launched the pre-dawn Operation Khanpi around 5:30–6:00 am in Khanpi village, Henglep, following credible inputs on UKNA presence.
- Four suspected UKNA members were killed in a firefight after militants opened unprovoked fire on an Army column, according to Defence Ministry and Assam Rifles statements.
- Officials said one suspect was arrested, firearms and ammunition were recovered, and searches in adjoining forested areas are continuing.
