The all-stock agreement brings Statsig’s experimentation tools into OpenAI’s applications unit, with operations continuing from Seattle pending regulatory review.

  • Statsig founder Vijaye Raji will become OpenAI’s chief technology officer of Applications, overseeing product engineering for ChatGPT and Codex and reporting to Applications CEO Fidji Simo.
  • OpenAI said Statsig will continue serving customers independently from its Seattle office and that a measured integration will follow, with employees joining OpenAI once the deal closes.
  • Srinivas Narayanan is being elevated to CTO of B2B Applications reporting to COO Brad Lightcap, and Kevin Weil will shift from chief product officer to vice president leading a new AI for Science team alongside chief research officer Mark Chen.
  • Founded in 2021, Statsig provides A/B testing and feature experimentation tools used by developers at companies including OpenAI, Eventbrite and SoundCloud, and it raised $100 million earlier this year at a $1.1 billion valuation.
