OpenAI Offers Free ChatGPT Plus Trial to College Students in U.S. and Canada

The two-month trial introduces advanced AI features to students, marking OpenAI's first large-scale marketing campaign.

Eligible college students in the U.S. and Canada can access ChatGPT Plus for free from March 31 to May 31, 2025, with verification through SheerID.
Students who sign up on the last day of the promotion will have free access through July 31, 2025, after which a $20 monthly fee applies unless canceled.
The trial includes advanced features such as GPT-4o access, expanded usage limits, voice mode, and enhanced file upload capabilities.
Existing ChatGPT Plus subscribers can participate, but accounts made through Google Play or Apple’s App Store are not eligible.
This initiative, led by OpenAI CMO Kate Rouch, targets students ahead of final exams and highlights AI's potential in education and productivity.
