OpenAI Expands ChatGPT's AI Agent Operator to New Countries

The tool, capable of performing browser-based tasks, is now available to Pro users in several countries outside the U.S., with plans for further expansion.

Operator, an AI agent from OpenAI, can autonomously perform tasks like online shopping, booking reservations, and filling out forms on behalf of users.
Initially launched in the U.S. in January 2025, the tool is now available to ChatGPT Pro subscribers in countries including the UK, Canada, India, Japan, and Australia.
Operator operates through a separate browser window and allows users to intervene or take control when needed, particularly for tasks requiring sensitive information like logins or payments.
The tool is currently in a research preview phase and only accessible to Pro users paying $200 per month, though OpenAI plans to expand access to other subscription tiers in the future.
While not yet available in the EU, Switzerland, and several other countries, OpenAI has announced plans to work on broader accessibility for the tool.
