- OpenAI rolled the mobile voice agent update on Wednesday, Sept. 23, adding voice control for the Work tab and plugin integrations to ChatGPT’s iOS and Android apps.
- Plus and Pro subscribers can use the mobile Work tab to create documents, draft emails, build presentations and run cloud-browser tasks while Free and Go users can access voice-driven plugins and connected apps.
- The update links GPT-Live voice to agentic models and browser/app actions so a spoken request can trigger multi-step background workflows, and voice conversations now produce richer on-screen text and can resume across devices.
- OpenAI demonstrated real tasks such as expense analysis, booking a $5 reservation and reorganizing calendars, and it says more than 150 million people already use ChatGPT’s dictation and voice tools.
