Ontario Woman Charged in $70,000 Taylor Swift Ticket Scam

Police say the accused used a fake alias to sell fraudulent tickets to at least 28 victims on Facebook Marketplace, with more victims possibly involved.

A Burlington, Ontario woman has been charged with defrauding Taylor Swift fans out of nearly $70,000 through fake ticket sales for the singer's Toronto Eras Tour shows.
The accused allegedly used the alias 'Denise Blackhawk' on Facebook Marketplace to sell fraudulent tickets, some dating back to August 2023 when tickets first went on sale.
Victims reportedly paid for tickets via e-transfer and were told they would receive them closer to the concert date, but the tickets were never delivered.
The woman faces 32 counts of fraud under $5,000, one count of fraud over $5,000, and multiple charges related to possession of property obtained by crime.
Police are urging additional victims to come forward, as one alleged victim claims the scam may have impacted as many as 160 people involving 420 tickets.
