ONPE Sets S/80 Million 2026 Electoral Broadcast Budget, Outlines Split for 38 Organizations

The distribution follows Peru’s political party law, using 2021 congressional representation to calculate proportional shares.

Overview

  • ONPE’s Chief Resolution No. 000202-2025-JN/ONPE, published Dec. 31, confirms S/80,000,000 for the 2026 franja electoral for 38 registered organizations (35 parties and 3 alliances).
  • S/8,709,182.60 is reserved for social networks, divided equally so each organization receives S/229,189.02, with ad purchases permitted on up to three platforms.
  • The remaining S/71,290,817.40 for traditional media is split into two equal pools of S/35,645,408.70 for television and radio.
  • From the traditional-media pools, each organization receives S/938,037.07 from the equal share, while the proportional share is allocated by 2021 congressional representation per JNE Resolution No. 0602-2021-JNE, with first-time participants assigned S/532,021.03 each.
  • The franja will run from Feb. 11 to Apr. 9, 2026, and spots must be no longer than 30 seconds with a sign-language interpreter, with messages allowed in official languages and translated when not in Spanish.
