Overview
- ONPE set August 24, 2026 as the final date to submit the second mandatory campaign-finance report covering activity from March 14 to August 1, 2026.
- The requirement reaches 37 political organizations and 7,378 candidates or their campaign responsables and was formalized in Resolución Gerencial N.° 000008-2026-GSFP/ONPE published in El Peruano.
- Submissions can be made through the CLARIDAD digital portal or delivered in person at ONPE’s central mesa de partes in Lima and at regional offices, and the agency will review each filing for completeness and accuracy.
- ONPE announced the ERM free broadcast slot will begin in September because candidate inscriptions remain in process under the JNE timetable, delaying the originally planned August start.
- ONPE has exclusive verification authority under the Law of Political Organizations and may open legal procedures or impose sanctions for incomplete, false, or missing reports, a step that could affect campaign funding transparency and candidate standing.
