- The ONPE installed 125 decentralized electoral offices (ODPE) on July 24 to run local operations and held the draw of members of mesa for the October 4, 2026 elections.
- Local ODPE teams are inspecting and habilitating voting locales by checking accessibility, services and space and signing formal actas of conformity before sites are used for training and voting.
- New districts and large urban districts are receiving focused planning: Alto Trujillo will vote for the first time with 25,193 electors serviced by 8 locales and 84 mesas, ODPE Huancané will habilitate 52 locales across Huancané and Moho, La Molina will open 41 locales with 574 mesas, and San Martín de Porres plans 172 locales with 1,786 mesas.
- Reniec’s closed electoral roll counts roughly 26,314,724 registered electors and identifies about 2,362,091 citizens who will vote for the first time, a cohort that is reshaping outreach, materials distribution and training priorities for ODPEs.
- ODPEs will publish definitive lists of members of mesa only after resolving tachas and will continue training, material distribution and local coordination to reduce risks of delays or access problems on election day.
