Overview
- Since October 2025 the ONP Te Acompaña pathway has delivered more than 1,000 pensiones de viudez, with the agency saying many cases receive a resolution in less than 24 hours.
- Eligible applicants are the spouse or a registered conviviente of a deceased Sistema Nacional de Pensiones pensioner and must present civil records such as a RENIEC marriage or death certificate or a registered unión de hecho.
- Applications are free and can be made in ONP offices, at Centros MAC across Peru, or via the ONP virtual videollamada service without a prior appointment or the use of paid intermediaries.
- Recipients gain not only a monthly pension but also access to Yuyaq Casa del Pensionista activities and health coverage through EsSalud, which the ONP cites as part of wraparound support.
- Delays still depend on missing civil records because RENIEC and Public Registries must verify marital status and death certificates, so claimants who lack registered documents may need to request those records before receiving a same-day resolution.
