  • Argentinos por la Educación’s Índice de Resultados Escolares reports that 10 of every 100 students who started primary in 2013 finished secondary in 2024 on time with satisfactory Language and Mathematics, down from 13 in 2022 and 16 in 2020.

  • Between 2022 and 2024, Language improved by 2.7 percentage points nationwide while Mathematics fell by 5.5 points, a divergence widely cited as the main driver of the decline.
  • Outcomes vary sharply by location and socioeconomic profile, with CABA at 23% and Tierra del Fuego and Córdoba at 13% versus Chaco at 3% and several northern provinces at 4%.
  • Because Aprender 2024 microdata were released in a new format, the index uses estimates based on 2022 patterns, and the Education Secretariat says a virtual desktop with disaggregated Aprender 2024 results will go public in October.
