OnePlus Switches to ColorOS 17 for Android 17 Updates
OPPO is consolidating OnePlus software under ColorOS to deliver shared UI refinements and on-device AI across supported phones and tablets.
Overview
- OPPO’s ColorOS Global account posted a device-by-device Android 17 rollout on Thursday that begins delivering updates in November and lists the OnePlus 13R for Nov. 5, the OnePlus 12 for Nov. 17, the OnePlus Pad 3 for Nov. 18, the OnePlus Open for Nov. 24, and the Nord 6 and Nord CE6 for Nov. 26.
- OnePlus will no longer issue OxygenOS as a separate Android 17 update and supported models will receive ColorOS 17 instead, making the move a formal consolidation of software work between OnePlus and OPPO.
- Users should expect staged, regional and carrier-paced rollouts that may not arrive to every device at the same time and should back up data because some early installs and rollback paths can require a full factory reset.
- ColorOS 17 is based on Android 17 and brings a refreshed interface, smoother animations, performance tweaks, and expanded on-device AI under the slogan 'Flow with AI, Flow Everywhere,' though OPPO says not all features will be available on every model.
- OPPO plans to update 24 OnePlus phones and tablets in total with additional models slated for December 2026 and into Q1 2027, a change that unifies BBK brand updates and could simplify long-term support and feature parity for owners.
