Overview
- Four men fell from a small boat near the San Lorenzo–Fray Luis Beltrán boundary on Thursday night when, according to the survivor, a strong wave caused the boat to lose control and sink by the stern.
- A 61-year-old survivor, identified as Rogelio Cabrera, swam to the Puerto BG muelles, received emergency care from SAME and was taken to Hospital Granaderos a Caballo for treatment.
- Cabrera gave the names of his three missing companions as Ezequiel Estegelman, Héctor Flores and Gustavo Muñoz, and authorities continue to treat them as the persons to be located.
- Prefectura Naval, Policía de Santa Fe guardacostas and rescue divers from Estación de Salvamento Rosario set a coastal cordon, issued navigation warnings and kept searches active into the following morning without positive findings.
- Investigators are working without direct eyewitness accounts and face strong current and low visibility, so searches may widen along the river and could include more boats and local fire crews as officials follow orders from the Fiscalía Federal Descentralizada de San Lorenzo.
