• Officer Phillip Wagner, a three-year department veteran and former Marine, died Thursday at MetroHealth Medical Center, marking the first Lorain officer fatality in 70 years.
• Officer Brent Payne remains in critical condition at MetroHealth after multiple surgeries for gunshot wounds to his hand and torso.
• Officer Peter Gale was released from Mercy Health-Lorain following treatment for a hand wound and several fractures.
• Lorain County Coroner Frank Miller confirmed that all of the suspect’s roughly a dozen gunshot wounds were inflicted by police weapons.
• Authorities recovered high-powered rifles, handguns, loaded magazines and improvised explosives from the suspect’s vehicle, and the Elyria Police Department continues its investigation.
