One Killed, Seven Injured in Dadar Bus Stop Crash as Tempo Traveller Driver Arrested

Police say tests found the 27-year-old driver intoxicated and have booked him under BNS and Motor Vehicles Act provisions.

  • Late Sunday night near the Plaza bus stop in Dadar, a speeding Tempo Traveller struck the front-right of a wet-lease BEST bus, causing it to veer into people waiting at the stop.

  • Officers registered a case citing BNS sections for negligence and rash driving and Motor Vehicles Act sections for dangerous and drunken driving.
  • The bus, a Mateshwari wet-lease vehicle on Route 169 returning to Pratiksha Nagar from Worli, was towed to Wadala for an RTO inspection after its front tyre burst and windshield shattered; a taxi and a tourist car were also damaged.
