• A fire erupted shortly after 4.20am Wednesday in a commercial storage unit above a Domino’s pizza shop on Oxford Street in Epping.
• Fire and Rescue NSW crews accessed the second floor via a narrow laneway staircase and forced entry through a door into fully developed flames to reach the victim.
• NSW Ambulance paramedics began CPR on a 55-year-old man after firefighters pulled him from the blaze and he later died at Royal North Shore Hospital.
• Firefighters continue to battle remaining hotspots at the scene with about a dozen personnel in attendance.
