Overview

• Two men were shot multiple times outside the Harold Park Hotel on Ross Street at about 6:40pm; one died at the scene and the second was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in critical condition.
• Leichhardt Police Area Command detectives and the State Crime Command Homicide Squad have established a crime scene and launched an ongoing homicide probe.
• Witnesses reported hearing between six and twelve shots and gave conflicting accounts of the assailants fleeing on foot or escaping in a car.
• Officers evacuated the hotel, blocked Wigram Road and nearby streets, and directed residents to remain indoors during the operation.
• Investigators are appealing for CCTV and dashcam footage through Crime Stoppers as a manhunt continues for the unknown gunmen.
