One Dead, Five Hospitalized in Pre-Dawn 5 Freeway Crash Near Los Feliz Boulevard
Authorities are investigating the five-vehicle collision following a full reopening of northbound lanes.
Overview
- The crash was reported around 3:18–3:20 a.m. on the northbound 5 at the Los Feliz Boulevard off-ramp in the Atwater Village and Griffith Park area.
- A 25-year-old man was ejected from a vehicle and died at the scene, and he had not been publicly identified.
- Five men were transported to hospitals, including a 28-year-old in serious condition and four others — ages 61, 35, and two 22-year-olds — in fair condition.
- CHP issued a Sigalert closing all northbound lanes at 3:39 a.m., reopened lanes through the morning, and canceled the alert at 9:54 a.m.
- CHP and LAFD reported five vehicles were involved and said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
