Overview
- The collision occurred around 14:15 at kilometre 508.4 of the N-260A near Biescas, Huesca province.
- Two cars first collided in a frontolateral impact, and a third vehicle then struck one of them from behind, according to Guardia Civil traffic reports.
- A 38-year-old man from Bizkaia died; eight others were injured, including a 66-year-old woman airlifted to Zaragoza’s Miguel Servet hospital and several patients taken to Hospital de Jaca.
- Two of the cars carried relatives from Bizkaia, while the other drivers included a 54-year-old resident of Alto Gállego and a 47-year-old traveling with two minors.
- The road was fully closed until about 17:00 before alternating traffic was allowed, and the Guardia Civil’s road-crash unit (EIS) has opened an inquiry into the causes.
