• Police say 14 people were struck around 10:14 p.m. Saturday on the 4100 block of 56th Avenue in Bladensburg after a vehicle came from the Annapolis Road area and hit a crowd gathered under a party tent.
• Authorities identified the woman who died as 31-year-old Ashley Hernandez Gutierrez of Washington, D.C., and reported that the injured include eight children ages 1 to 17 and five surviving adults.
• The driver initially fled on foot and later surrendered; investigators interviewed the 66-year-old D.C. man and are consulting the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office on charges.
• Officials said an infant and a juvenile female were initially in critical condition, while several other victims were treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries at regional hospitals.
