Overview
- RJD candidates and supporters held a late-night protest outside the Sasaram counting premises, alleging a truck carrying EVMs entered and that CCTV feeds were unavailable.
- Rohtas district magistrate Udita Singh said the truck reached the Bazar Samiti campus at 7:59 pm, that boxes were opened on camera in front of party representatives, and that only empty steel trunks were found.
- The administration said the vehicle parked about 500 metres from the strong room, CCTV systems were functioning, and candidate teams could view feeds through a dedicated system.
- RJD demanded the release of full CCTV footage and warned of large-scale mobilisation if the Bihar chief electoral officer and Election Commission did not promptly clarify the incident.
- Counting is scheduled to start on November 14 with postal ballots before EVMs, under double-lock strong-room procedures, central observers, two-tier security, and statewide restrictions on crowding and victory processions.
