OMPSG Rescheduled for Tonight, Colliding With Ballon d’Or Gala in Paris

The LFP enforced its next-day replay rule after the Marseille prefect’s weather delay, despite PSG’s push for another date.

Overview

  • Kickoff is set for 20:00 at the Vélodrome on Monday as the Ballon d’Or ceremony begins in Paris at 21:00, creating a direct overlap.
  • PSG traveled with the same 19-player group initially named; Ousmane Dembélé, injured, remained in Paris to attend the gala, while Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola and João Neves are also out and OM miss Geoffrey Kondogbia and Hamed Traoré.
  • The LFP cited its regulations requiring a next-day replay for weather postponements, after PSG sought alternatives including Tuesday or a December date.
  • OM declined a Tuesday option and, according to the LFP, threatened to pursue a procedure if overruled, leaving Monday as the only viable slot.
  • A ministerial order bans PSG supporter travel from Île-de-France to Marseille on public-order grounds, and fan frustration over the timing remains high.
